I always love seeing people that write out a TON of stuff for their interviews. It gets me super excited to see how extra passionate they are about their cosplay. This isn't saying that the interviewees that don't write as much aren't passionate, just that those that write out as much as Kari are SUPER EXTRA PASSIONATE! I checked out their instagram and although I don't really understand the Idol craze, I do appreciate all the super cute costumes and dedication to learning all the dances they do.
What are your social medias? @karisenpaii on Instagram, Twitter & Twitch, & KariSenpai! on YT
How long have you been cosplaying? Regularly for about 3-4 years now! :)
What got you into Cosplay? Going to an anime con as an adult with money LOL I love Halloween so much, I've always been huge on dressing up. I'd go all out during Spirit Week at school, full makeup for school dances, and when I realized cosplay existed I was hooked.
Favourite Costume? Was it bought or made? I've got lots that I love, but I think my most special is Juvia from Fairy Tail. She was the first one I really made all by myself and I was so proud! I grew to love the character even more and I've cosplayed her so often when usually I only reuse a cosplay once or twice.
What are your goals as a cosplayer? To keep doing cosplay for as long as I want, no matter my age. And to win a couple competitions wouldn't hurt ;)
Which Cosplayer inspired you to cosplay? To be honest it took me awhile to get to know the cosplay community and that there was an online presence. I'm from a small town and didn't know cons existed until almost 17, I went with friends but didn't get to go again until I was 20. But right now I'm really inspired by Ginny Di, she puts so much love and effort into her work, it makes me want to do the same!
Dream Cosplay? Nero Claudius Bride outfit. It's INCREDIBLE, I have it as a figure and I've wanted to do it since. It'd be really difficult to make so I'd rather buy it, perhaps next year?? Ooo, or Shiva from Final Fantasy!
Favourite Skill of Cosplay? (Wig work, sewing, armor, etc) Maybe this is lame but the makeup application is my favorite part! (Absolutely not lame. I totally love when people have amazing makeup skills, like @Stripeyspots on Insta) I love doing 'pretty' characters and glitzing up. I always think I like the sewing part, and I love when the hard work pays off, but I'm such a fiery person that I end up having little patience. But I'm trying to change that this year!
