I love featuring photographers because there are usually so many different faces with their work. While I do love seeing cosplayers transform themselves, it's also only so much that changes about them. Photographers can truly transform their subjects and they also have a wider array of subjects and almost all of the photogs I have met have this vast well of knowledge of locations to shoot at and I am truly envious. When Mouzy asks me where I want to shoot my Cosplays of the Year, I'm almost always like, "uhhhhhhh, idk?" which I know is super unhelpful, but then she magically pulls a location out! I can tell with Happy Nerd Photo knows where all the best locations are in Saint Louis to shoot. Give him a follow!

Where can we find your photos?

What got you into photography? I'm not good at crafting my projects so I wanted to capture others creativity. As cliche as it sounds, seeing the professional photoshoots of Cosplayers like Jessica Nigri really inspired me. I want to showcase great cosplays as well and get to meet my fellow nerds!

What's your favorite part of photographing Cosplayers? Getting to take in the hard work that was put into the cosplays. It's amazing when you start a shoot and once the *awkward* phase is gone you can really start playing around with the character and get some awesome shots.

Words of advice for budding photographers? Don't be afraid to reach out to local groups of cosplayers and ask to do shoots. They have worked super hard on their costumes and would love nothing more than for it to be captured!

Favorite Genre/Fandom you enjoy photographing? Star wars or Super Heroes. Recently I've been photographing a lot of princesses which is a huge learning curve but they make some of the best pictures because it's almost like you are making a fairy tale come true.

Favorite convention to Shoot at/attend, and why? The only convention that I have actually shot at was Gateway comicon this past fall. But i plan on shooting at Planet comicon and ASTL this year!

Cosplayer Credits: Dana Perkins (Harley Quinn), STL Princess Parties, Katherine Kirchoff, Paige Allison
